At Pierre's

I wanted to share with you a little about the salon I'm at. It's a quant cottage in downtown Modesto where you can relax with a cup of tea (I do this often) or a glass of wine while hearing eclectic music from around the world. What once was a small home, owner and master stylist Pierre Noghli revamped and polished into this amazing salon exclusively carrying aquage hair product.

Years ago I worked as a receptionist at a really cool medical spa, the owner of which was getting married and I was called to do a bit of hair and makeup for the wedding party. The bride was having her hair done by Pierre so thus a little get-ready-for-the-wedding party broke out at his salon. I was smitten, although there were so many ladies getting ready, crowding over any and every mirror, lipstick and bobby pins being tossed from one person to the next, it was still very peaceful and felt like home. The perfect place to prepare for such a special occasion. A year or so after, while I was in beauty school, I was able to contact Pierre through a friend of the family, and was now visiting the salon a few days a week shadowing him, absorbing as much about hair color, cuts and styling as I possibly could by watching his various techniques. I am still boggled by many of the things in which he did and by boggled I mean totally amazed. When I started to look for a salon to work in Pierre's was always on my mind, but I knew I needed to gain more experience. After a few years of building clientele, doing photo shoots, moving and working in la in every possible medium, I moved back to by hometown and started narrowing my options. I moved through a couple salons trying to find the right fit for both my self and my clients and one day thought I may as well take the leap and call Pierre, hoping I'd be remembered. And here I am, although yes, I have been here for almost six months now, I am still a very excited and proud part of Pierre's team of stylists, come visit.
