weekend getaway: san luis obispo

last weekend was my little sisters birthday and i drove on out to san luis obispo to visit her and her college town she loves so. she is very involved with all sorts of adventures and she had heard of a place named montana de oro with an easy walking hike on the seaside bluffs. gorgeous. the drive alone was breathtaking, i felt like we were in hawaii with all the fragrant eucalyptus trees. we found our way into a little cove and a snapped up as many photos i could. i don't get to see the ocean as much as i'd like.
san luis obispo is such a fun place to just walk around, downtown of course, i never really realized how large the actual town/city is. the downtown streets are lined with darling shops and amazing cafes and restaurants. ooh how i could talk about the food! lets just say i have found some new favorites and started a list to try out next time. although i was hardly there a day and a half i had such a great time  just getting away. i would definitely like to do more of these little weekend trips. like a breath of fresh air.

“The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence. It is nothing but love and emotion; it is the Living Infinite. "

-Jules Verne, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
