What can be more like the holiday season than a fabulous red lip? These are a few of my favorites I wanted to share for when you're picking out your holiday shade of red. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve there are many options to choose from. There are lip stains which will last longer and stay put while eating, drinking and being merry. Though many stains can be matte you can always pump up the volume with a bit of gloss, a few favorites are below. I am absolutely in love the the matte red lip this winter. For a matte lip use the Chanel Rouge Double Intensité (without gloss), Nars Lip Pencil, or either Revlon colors shown below.

If you are not using a lip stain or matte color for fear of it being to dry (stains do tend to feel a bit dry) try using a bit a lip conditioner before hand (Chanel Hydramax+ Active Lip Care is phenom. or for a less pricy option MAC Prep+Prime Lip should do the trick)

For more of a satin finish I love the MAC lipsticks and frequently mix them together for a 'custom shade,' but that's just me ;) or the Nars Red Lizard for that cool red.

*Tip*Long lasting wearability is always one of the most important factors. To keep any lip color on for hours apply your liner/lipstick then separate a kleenex tissue in two and set on one half on the lip. Using a loose powder (I like to use translucent so not to add any funky color) and with any soft bristle brush tap the powder on top of the tissue lying on your lips, apply lip color at least one more time and volia, color to last all night!
