How soon is now..

Spring is here everyone! And since the beginning of the year I have been able to work on some some amazing projects and with some wonderful people.
January held mainly physical therapy for me, I had to get back in gear for what was coming up in February and after my car accident I had been slow moving and January was my final hope! But aside from that boringness I did a really funny comedy short with director Travis Kurtz which I'll share once it's released. I had worked with the director and producer on the"Mike E. Winfield Show" pilot- hilarious and I haven't even seen the final result, just some of the dailies! That too should be coming out soon and I will definitely make sure you all get to see it! Great group of people always a good time.

February rolls in and the busyness begins! I was key makeup and hair stylist for the film "Geezers!" directed by Michelle Schumaucher. We filmed throughout the entire month, and had an absolute blast. The cast was amazing, each one was quite a character, and I'm not talking on film either. They were awesome. As the film had a majority of older male actors and the idea was to make sure they still look old, nothing pretty 'no makeup' makeup. I love the 'no makeup' makeup look and I found great products that covered any impurities that wouldn't be too great on camera but not heavy enough to be detected. Here are a few of my favorites.

Feels amazing, sweeps away makeup and impurities. The entire Dr. Hauschka line is natural and is based around a holistic nature. Everything that is in the product, has a purpose.

Cooling, refreshes the pH of your skin giving it that extra bit of clean and feel good glow.

I said the cleanser feels amazing, well this moisturizer feels even better. You can feel the absorption as it hits your skin, silky smooth chalk full with beneficial ingredients!

I had many of my cast come back to me asking what this product was because they saw such a difference in their skin! This not only smoothes the surface of your skin and keeps your foundation on longer throughout the day it gives you am amazing glow! No joke- I've been using the Oil-Free version for myself (as I do not need as much hydration as those with maturing skin) and absolutely love it.

I have shown you this product once before, but since it was a staple in my kit throughout the film I wanted to share with you again. Not only can this product be worn out and about on a regular day basis, it can be used for movies too (whaaat!?) yessir yes ma'am, it gives the perfect amount of coverage yet is undetectable even under lights, camera, action.

I didn't do much concealing since we wanted at little makeup as possible, but when needed I turned to this amazing (too much?) product. Let me warn you, use a VERY small amount I hardly tapped it out, not even a squeeze because this product conceals instantly and smooths into the skin wonderfully!

Perfect to set the foundation, to reduce any shine and use as a touch up on set. Love.

Now I know I said they weren't supposed to look made up, so you are probably thinking "why a sculpting kit?" The idea is just to give them a bit of warmth, use a light hand and you wont have any trouble and it wont look like makeup at all.

An absolute must have when doing male grooming. Absolute.

For the women, well of course I had to doll them up a bit, we may get old but I promise you that will never tear us away from looking our best and sprucing up! This cheek color gave that subtle touch of color without being obvious, a very natural blush.

The "Geezers!" crew

As March rolled around I started working more and focusing more on weddings. It reminded me about how much I love making people look and feel not only special but feel gorgeous and empowdered. I am looking to do a lot more weddings, red carpet, and special event makeup. I was able to work for a few clients for the SAG awards as well as the Grammy's and traveled all other Los Angeles those days getting everyone ready to walk the red carpet.
April has been much of the same, I have been working with a client and friend for a few of her red carpet appearances, photo's to follow soon! Otherwise I've been refocusing and planning out what will be next of me and my business!
